The colourful BUFFALO Aspha that was designed by performing artivist, storyteller and model Cherella Gessel – a.k.a Chella Chella – is a reminder that Black Trans Lives Matter. Combining the yellow lacing that is dedicated to intersexual people, the lavender tongue that is devoted to trans non-binary people, the white for A-gender and lastly the pastel pink and blue for trans men and women – Cherella´s shoe is not only outstanding by colour and design, but carries the message that “Together, we are all part of something much bigger”. The flower and rainbow pattern on the sole underline this core message and pay homage to the American activist Marsha P. Johnson, a key figure in the Stonewall Riots. “Pay it no mind” – the quote that crowns the top of the shoe is a remembrance to Marsha’s selfless activism.”
